Your introduction can really make or break how many responses you get. It is easy to come across like a bit of a smart ass or silly without trying due to the nature of email.

Make it easy for them to answer
“Generally, this means you should include a query, or at least a comment that obviously begs for a response,” Ehrlich and Bartz advise.
Remember that the main purpose of the first response is to get the ball rolling.
