It was founded on January 19, 2004. OkCupid came to life thanks to 4 friends who were students of Harvard University. They wanted to create something different, and from there, OkCupid was born as the first free site for people to join, get to know each other, and arrange dates. In 2012, OkCupid became one of the most popular dating sites. The OkCupid website allows anyone to send you a message, irrespective of your desire. At times, visitors complain of the higher cost of membership than other forums in the field.
Free Membership. As a free member of OKCupid you can browse matches, like a match, get notified if a match likes you back, and message a match that you have liked. However, you cannot see who likes you unless you’re a paying member. As I said above, OKCupid is free but with limited options. OkCupid offers two kinds of premium membership. The first kind is called A-List basic, which has additional features that can make a more productive user experience. The other is the A-List premium, which comes with even more features that are not really. Now, let’s speaking more about the prices in this OkCupid review. The cost of a Basic one month’s account is 7.95$ while Premium one is 24.90$. As on most of other dating websites, the pricing policy is almost the same, the longer you will be using this paid membership the less money you will spend. For instance, one month usage of a Basic.
With a free account, you can see all of your potential matches, send and receive Likes (we’ll even let you know if you like each other, for free!), and send and receive messages.

Incognito allows you to keep an active profile on OkCupid while being 100% hidden to anyone on the site who you have not already messaged or liked. If you’d like to hide someone who you had messaged you can click “hide” on their profile or “block” on their message. If you’d like to hide someone who you had liked, just block their profile.
Not only will you not appear in Discover to anyone you haven’t liked/messaged, if anyone tries to visit your profile who you haven’t liked/messaged, they’ll get a note that your profile does not exist.

On the website (not the app), go to your Subscription Settings page to see your subscription details.
To Cancel Your Subscription
On the settings page you'll see a list of your subscriptions and will see a 'Turn off automatic billing' link. Clicking this link will prevent you from being billed again in the future, but you'll keep the rest of the time on your subscription that you have already paid for.
If your Subscription is already canceled
If the button says 'Renew' instead of 'Turn off automatic billing', that means the subscription is already canceled. You should see the date your subscription is set to end.
If you paid via Google Play or iTunes
If the payment method is Google Play or iTunes with no 'downgrade' button, you won't be able to cancel your subscription via our website. To cancel, follow the cancellation instructions listed below for canceling subscriptions made with Google Play or iTunes.

- If you're using the app but don't see an option to cancel in iTunes or Google Play, then it's likely that you paid via Credit Card or PayPal and need to cancel on our website instead. You will see this on the OkCupid app if you have paid via Credit Card:
Okcupid A List Cost
- Go to play.google.com/store/account.
- Find the subscription you want to cancel.
- Click Cancel Subscription.
If you purchased via Google Play and are looking on the OkCupid app's settings page, your subscription page will look like this:
If you're using the app but don't see an option to cancel in iTunes or Google Play, then it's likely that you paid via Credit Card or PayPal and need to cancel on our website instead. You will see this on the OkCupid app if you paid via Credit Card:
Note on renewals and disabled/ deleted accounts:
If you paid for your subscription with PayPal or Credit card disabling your account does not automatically cancel your subscription/auto-renewal. If you do not wish for your subscription to renew, you'll need to cancel your auto-renewal before you disable your account. If you delete your account, we will automatically cancel your subscription/auto-renewal, and you will not be charged again.
If your subscription is via iTunes or Google Play, those services do not know when your account on OkCupid is disabled, re-enabled, or even deleted, so they do not stop your subscription and you continue to be billed. If you want to stop billing via iTunes or Google Play, you will need to cancel your subscription through them separately from closing your OkCupid account.
